A Path Toward Understanding
Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month is a celebration of a diverse group of ethnic heritage within the Asian community who bring a wealth of enriched culture to our society. This festival endeavors to build awareness and educate our community on the various cultures and contributions these different Asian ethnic groups have brought to enrich our American Story. By building this ethnic awareness, we hope that prejudice, stereotypes, and unconscious biases will be recognized within our society so that racism and hatred can be eliminated from the midst of us. As Asian hate crimes are increasing, it is imperative now more than ever that these crimes be stopped. One of the most important ways of stopping these crimes is to begin with the education of our community.
